I am always worried when someone self-proclaims “author”. After all, the influence of my literary studies obliges, is it not up to the reader to decide who is an author? And then you have to be careful. Barbara Cartland or Henry Bordeaux are authors. One for the worse, the other completely forgotten.

But the plate of gnocchi with tarragon, watercress, rabbit and truffle makes you lean on the good side. Not bad at all. A nice balance of flavors. Indeed, tarragon is a herb whose wrong dosage can quickly be disastrous. And the marriage with the truffle did not seem obvious at first.

The pork is in the same line with the tandoori spice that raises the whole. More classic but interesting.

It is the dessert that concludes as well as the starter, with an “almost” mille-feuille (there are only two leaves!) Ricotta, pear and buckwheat. Elegant. A beautiful piece.

Classic Burgundy to accompany.

The great concern of authors (and artists) is to objectively evaluate their work. The only problem of Plume restaurant will be a rather wild addition that suffers from the comparison with its neighbor a few streets away, H Kitchen, which offers a menu at 27 euros, with slightly less technical dishes, certainly, but in equal or greater quantity and with a search for equivalent tastes.

 

I will be retorted that the products are from selected producers, that the frame is much more beautiful, that there are more people in the kitchen. I concede. But at 65 euros, starter, main course, dessert and glass of wine, I need more than 3 slices of melanosporum to sugar the pill.
