Expansive butter !

Why did I wait so much time testing Le Comptoir du Relais? Because I never queued! And at each of my passages in front of the establishment, the queue was for me crippling.
Especially since the clients are often ruthlessly parceled and are regularly overtaken by the privileged guests of the neighboring hotel, property of the restaurant. For a place that refuses reservations to vulgum pecus, it’s sometimes annoying.

And by chance this day of September I saw empty tables on the terrace by a beautiful sun.

The carpaccio of calf’s head is my temptation of the day. Beautiful plate well balanced both in terms of color and taste, red onions rub shoulders with the white and yellow of the boiled egg, the creamy color of potatoes and green gherkins. Good sabayon with tarragon.

These are really good quality because not too sour. It is a defect that is commonly found to have a vinegar too powerful and slaughters the taste in the mouth.

Excellent braised suckling pig. Beautiful animal, a little fat (perfect!).

At 19 euros the plate is not too demanding.

I did not remove points on the final note because there are quite a few heavy spelling mistakes but many typographical errors despite everything.

But there is one thing that made me scream: make me charge the butter supplement. I do not hesitate to say it: it is shameful. Besides the server understood my reaction and, without contest, deleted the 50 euro cents incriminated. Moreover, unless I’m mistaken, they are not indicated on the map so this billing is illegal.

Maybe it works with tourists but we are there in a pettiness totally unworthy of a nice table with good food.

 

 

Less 1 point for toilets because not adapted disabled (impossible because in the basement) and especially far from being well maintained. Paper on the ground, water on the floor, etc. Not dirty but deserve a more regular passage during the service.

Bill of 94 euros for 2 people.
