Dar Cherifa – Marrakech – Morocco
What makes two restaurants with a very similar appearance cause two very different feelings, in addition to cooking? This is what I will try to answer with Dar Cherifa, very close to all levels of Ksar Essaoussan.
Except that the Dar Cherifa has a look a little too new (even if it is an ancient building), too licked closer to the movie setting set than the authentic Dar.
The service is dramatically lacking in spirit, even if it is effective.
It is the same with the menu we feel that it has been developed to satisfy a tourist clientele in search of “change of scenery but not too much”.
Will I really give you a description of each dish? I recognize that even for me, it would be difficult because I would miss the words to describe the average.
The fried puffs are bland, only the eggplant and the red beet (and yet I’m not a fan) wake up the taste buds. You wonder what is doing here concentrated soy sauce.
The grilled vegetables are too grilled. I was expecting something other than pesto in condiment in Morocco.
The penne are overcooked, but let’s be kind, we are not in Italy.
The assortment of 5 flavors is very disappointing. It is flat.
Dessert 4 flavors is something you can do without.
It’s not bad, far from it. But nothing exceptional that deserves attention.
Only the seafood pastilla really stands out.
Plus the fact that the restaurant does not have alcohol license.
To conclude, a restaurant with decent food but terribly lacking “groove”, atmosphere, the little spark that leaves you a good souvenir.
Bill of 75 euros for 2 adults and 1 child.
