As summer approached, it was time to stock up on the last cassoulet of the season. Although, it would not scare me in the middle of August … but I will not be in Paris in August!

Small dinner alone on the terrace of this restaurant Alain Dutournier.

 

 

Classic and well made terrine of sweetbreads and hazelnuts. We feel good quality elements worked very well. A few cubic centimeters would be a little nicer because you are almost closer to the amuse-bouche than the actual starter charged at 13 euros.

The cassoulet is for its part much more generous in its caquelon. Even if the thigh is a little hungry. But it is true that the slaughter of a few million birds in recent years (flu requires) has created a shortage. And so we put on the market animals faster to make up for the lack. The problem is that they do not have time to fatten enough.

The culinary preparation is very good, both sausage and beans or bacon. However (confers photo), 22 euros the dish, I would like that the chest is well prepared and does not contain cartilage. This is the only minor inconvenience of the meal.

As too often, the dessert is the poor part of the meal, with a tourtière landaise accompanied by its quenelle prune-Armagnac ice cream. It’s nice without more.

Pic Saint-Loup is nothing to write home about. The Pinot noir Domaine de l’Echelette is much better.

Try to get a table on the terrace, it’s more pleasant to enjoy the sweet evenings of the Buci district.

Bill of 59 euros for 1. Solid 10-15% too expensive.
