Abbeyglen Castle Hotel – Clifden – Eire Visit Review:

Red neck +

Strange hotel whose distant appearance kindly deceives when you are near. But up close, the concrete walls to over-lineage to believe that it is stone, the tacky decoration, the customers “red neck +” immediately get your head straight. Do not be fooled by the website that flings “luxury” at every corner and displays photos of excellent quality.

Avoid  the daily “conference” praising the organized tour (and to pay) of the city to great chorus and false stories to thrill the audience.

The Champagne announced is only basic Prosecco, the petits fours composed of vacuum-smoked salmon chiffonades. We are far from the high quality cocktail.

Fortunately the rooms have recently been redecorated and have all the comforts requested for the proposed rate.

The living room is all the worst of tacky especially the sofas. They are thick and rough fabric very useful in case of out of stock of emery paper. On the walls are fixed, here and there, various objects which can not be properly described as antiques.

Is breakfast going to save the ship? Not really because the scrambled eggs are an industrial preparation in bottle, to pass to the pan or the microwave for the most lazy, the fried eggs are in the same vein, the juice of orange is natural but made with oranges stuffed with pulp, the sausages are barely suitable and the black pudding is honest.

The worst is probably the pretty little flag (they have dozens!) you are gratified on arrival and which sits majestically on your table. It’s nice to get to know neighbors.

But in fact, no, “I do not like people!”

I regret not having had the presence of mind to say that I was from Eastern Baluchistan just to see the disappointment of the waiter.

The massage service is sometimes reachable. But sometimes.

Overall, good rooms but some common areas a little worn.

Remain the view of Clifden and the tranquility that are the main advantages of this hotel.

Bill of 278 euros for 2 nights.
