A la vierge de la Réunion – Paris – France Visit Review: 15.4

A canteen where to go.

Contrary to what you could believe, no direct link with the old island of Bourbon in this restaurant. The “réunion” was the assembly of two parisian districts, the Petit and Grand Charonne in 1850. And the proximity of the street of Terre-Neuve does not help the first hypothesis because it is named as well as in 1870 or 1877.

Let’s abandon these historical considerations to look at this charming establishment offering a simple and good cuisine mixing flavors of East and West.

The pastilla is accompanied by Waterzooï chicken, cod brandade and Laguiole sausage (Maison Conquet). But the house has made the specialty of finding small wines of producers in organic, biodynamic, etc. And all this at more than affordable rates.

Oenology and cooking classes are also proposed.
